  1. why are people saying “go vegan”? why can’t we just support our local
organic meat markets or meat from whole foods with 4+ ratings etc?

  2. I always struggle with this, I want to be a vegetarian, but I’m not
responsible enough to live off a diet like that. I cut meat out of my diet
once before and I’ve never been so ill in my life before. Maybe when I’m a
bit older and can actually cook proper meals.

As for buying products? Sure, I see the products that are most likely to be
organic, that treat animals better etc – but those foods are twice the
price (or more). A packet of eggs can be £1.20 or £3.30. When I’m working
off a limited budget a week, the tesco brand food looks far more
achievable. I have to eat at the end of the day, I can’t be choosy.

It’s absolutely disgraceful what’s going on out there, it’s so
disheartening, but what can we do to change it? What will actually work.
Telling us it’s our fault like this is not exactly going to suddenly make
things better. We need to revolutionise everything. One person not buying a
packet of chicken in tescos isn’t going to do something, we need global
    change.

I did find this video interesting, a little scary too the way it was so
    upbeat. Thank you.

  3. After 7 minutes of watching this, tell me if you are prepared to look the
    other way.

  4. Factory farming = cheap > Save money by buying factory farmed food, people
are starving and dying and you want to save the pigs? fuck you

  5. What ever it takes to get that pork chop on my plate. Cuz pork are the
    shit.

  6. Do you LOOK the other way? I don’t…

  7. Wilful ignorance works very well.

    “Bildung”.

  10. I found this talk by chance. I think the audience didn’t clap at the end
    because they found themselves dumbstruck.

P.S. for those who follow me this is a repost from my timeline and I am
sorry for the duplicate. However G+ doesn’t allow me to post both to a
    community and a circle.

  11. I’m confused, was this a lecture at an advertising course? Because if I was
a student, I’d be taking notes on how to efficiently manipulate the public.

And it was only 7 minutes long. What were they doing for the rest of the
    hour?

Unless…. is this set up a lie? If so, how can I believe anything in it?

  12. OMG I’M SO SURPRISED! FUCKING NOT! How is this surprising to any of you? If
you would think about for 2 minutes it’s fricking obvious. By the way no,
I’m not a vegetarian. This shit is necessary. If there were less people in
the world it wouldn’t be necessary. So stop fucking breeding! More humans =
more of this farming. Less humans = less of this.

  13. Brilliantly done video. A “ted-style” talk where the speaker gets zero
applause at the end, and for a good reason.

  14. Boom!!!

  15. As somebody who knows where his meat comes from I find this talk boring.
Consumer education and a call for consumer awareness is actually part of
the normal school education you get in switzerland nowadays. Who listens to
    marketers anyway?

  16. Not a particularly mind blowing video, though the last 5 seconds were
interesting. Anyone who actually gives a shit knows this all already. I’m
not a vegetarian but even as a student I go out of my way to buy free range
chicken and eggs and I don’t buy pork at all. Means I can eat about half
the meat I used to, but I was willing to give it up. I know I probably
sound unbearably self righteous but the fact that people don’t even care
about this kind of thing, even though they have the means to buy better,
    makes me so angry.

  17. Christopher McDonald

Scientists are working on creating synthetic meat which, in my opinion, is
the only way to stop the mass killings of animals.
It will probably be decades before they make it as tasty and nutritious as
real meat but it will happen eventually.
Until then, sorry cows pigs and chickens, we aren’t herbivores.

  18. Cruelty to food… Yep, makes loads of sense.
In all seriousness though, that is not the *only* farming that happens.
There are good farms and bad farms, you only saw bad farms here so inform
yourself before you let this work on you -_-
