So why not just make our corporate tax rate the same as Switzerland?
You could solve the problem by getting on board with the tea party or
conservatives by supporting a flat tax and abolishing the IRS, but you wont
since you like it when the white house targets your opppostition with the
IRS.
People who think that avoiding taxes is a fine thing are, at heart,
leeches. They want all the benefits of living in a country with a modern,
well-maintained infrastructure, but they don’t want to pay for it. They,
far more so than any welfare recipient, are the ones looking to the rest of
the world for a handout.
These businesses are just doing what makes sense and is profitable. If I
had the ability to get out of paying taxes, then I probably would. More
money for me. They are simply following what is in their interest, and
little more can be expected than that.
This is a good story then. Caterpillar saved its money from theives in the
USA. Why is Cenk so angry?
Not paying what you think should be their taxes is not the same as taking
from our tax payer pockets.
They are not robbing us.
Until international labor is as strong as international capital, we can
expect this sort of “dotted line hopping”. As soon as there is NOWHERE for
a corporation to go (that is any less expensive for them than anywhere
else), this sort of thing will end.
if these corporations aren’t paying the taxes, guess who gets the brunt of
the responsibility? That’s right! You and me folks! We can’t do a lot of
these “legal” tricks to avoid paying taxes so why should big business? If
everyone does tricks to pay the least amount in taxes, it’ll just put the
whole country in a deeper financial hole because our government can’t
balance a budget worth a damn.

$8 Trillion dollars can’t even be accounted for in one single department of
the US Government and people are complaining because Caterpillar saved some
money and actually employed some people?
Wow how fucking dare they. That money could have been rightfully wasted!
Caterpillar is a great company, they are 100% correct to avoid as much
taxes as possible. They are living by the actual American dream and
principles: maximizing profits and minimizing expenses and USA tax code is
theft. If Caterpillar is forced somehow to pay all those taxes, maybe the
actual result would be Caterpillar moving their business out of USA
completely, after all, Caterpillar is a global company, they sell
globally. Good for Caterpillar, now everybody else should avoid their
taxes as well.
Why can we not unionize ALL non-business owner workers nationally or at
least state wide? There are WAY more of us than there are owners and they
cannot do anything without us. The “National Workers Union”, each state
would have a chapter that would communicate with the other state chapters
to make sure that abuses are reported, fairness promoted.
enough of these big companies creating jobs, growing the economy and
creating a good standard of living for the middle class!
every penny of their profits should be confiscated by the government and
used to buy votes from negroes, gays and illegal mexicans!
