I like the business system of Apple. If you spend time watching over other
people shoulders, then you’re not doing your job. Teamwork involves
everyone trusting each other and that everyone do his/her part. Managing
people doesn’t mean being a slave-driver which will eventually have its
adverse effects. Managing to lead people involves pushing people up and
allowing them to do what they’re good at doing best.

this is extremely interesting. i have watched it 100 times. people like to
define committee within companies because committees need someone in
charge. by defining them managers use it as a way of signalling competition
and then managing people. you see different ways of managing people, what
Steve J says here and what is the norm is many others places. If one day i
be at a position i think i let the company run by the ideas.
