Do you understand concepts like context, audience, or time? You replied to
my post but ignored examples of proverbs that were read and understood by
    the Hebrew culture

What you quoted about Jesus on the Sermon of the Mount is inaccurate. The
audience were peasants oppressed by the Romans and their puppet government.
Jesus was giving them hope, and faith. Of course you do not seem to
understand this due to it being to deep for you.

The bible does not teach to sit back and relax because God is in control.
The bible calls what you stated a lazy manager that will come to nothing.
Read the book of Proverbs in the bible as context. Also, in reading the
bible one will realize that true wealth is more than physical wealth. Their
is something called balanced. without a balanced life you are truly not
wealthy if you work all the time but die before you could enjoy it. That
    would be a fool.

@SpankbankINC it’s too bad you can’t see the hypocrisy in this message. I
like Dave Ramsey, I listen to his podcast when I’m working out all the time
but he is by no means infallible. He said we know the same things rich
people know and then his next line said that if you figure out what they’re
doing you can do it and be rich. How wealthy have you become since you
found out this obvious truth is so simple to enact? Why don’t you tell me
how easy it is and what I need to do, or is it innate?

You missed the “doing” part. You could know the same thing as the rich but
if you do not put it into practice then how can you get the same result?
That is were you missed it. Your definition of hypocrisy is not correct for
    Dave Ramsey.

  5. @SoulDesign I would rather receive advice from a financial expert who
explains things from a secular point of view rather than a religious point
of view. The Bible does say a lot of good things about money, but it also
says some things about money that make little sense. And not everyone,
including myself, believes in the Bible. It was written by men and has
numerous flaws, contradictions, and I don’t believe it is the word of God,
no more or less than the Koran or the Book of Mormon, etc.

  6. @martyrdisciple Well, the Bible essentially teaches people to not become
worried or concerned about their finances, because God is in control.
Basically, sit back, relax and let God do everything. I just happen to
believe that we humans are in control of our own lives and should make wise
decisions using our own judgment rather than relying on a deity that may
not even exist. For the contradictions, all you have to do is Google the
subject or read an atheist book such as Godless by Dan Barker.

  7. @Nep321 The Bible teaches a lot about money. Why is implementing its
    principles, extremely successfully, lame?

  8. OshoRamseyGump

I think that a person who has lots of money has a higher probability of
giving sound financial advice than a person who has little money. How much
money do you have? Dave has lots of money. Until I find someone who has
more money than Dave, and is as good a teacher, I will change my plan. But
I have a feeling I will already be done worrying about it by the time comes!

  9. RichGonzalezVerona

Do you have a better suggestion than using the Bible? If you do then why
are you looking for the answer still?

  10. This guy lost me when he started referring to the Bible and Jesus and all
that stuff in order to give financial advice. How utterly lame.

  11. [[The bible does not teach to sit back and relax because God is in control.
]] – In the New Testament Jesus says you should be like the birds & lilies,
don’t toil (don’t work), rely on divine providence, (heavenly welfare). He
told his disciples to abandon their jobs and families, pick up their
crosses & follow him to spread his message. So yes, the NT does in fact say
to sit back because ‘god’ is in control. “…take away this cup from me:
nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.”

Just don’t save the difference in dollars. You will lose your future
purchasing power. I would suggest hard assets, such as Art, physical gold &
physical silver to name a few….

  13. I’m debt freeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

  14. RichGonzalezVerona

Your misconception about the bible is evident with your comment. That is
why you are bound by your mindset. Dave Ramsey is stating what the bible
says about money has made him financially free.

  15. AmericanCritiquer

    @medlock01 prove it!

  16. @Nep321 Wrong on so many counts. I guess you missed the FIRST book of the
Bible. If God were in total control of everything(no free will) there would
be no reason for the Bible. God does act in life but the decisions are all
up to you. Why is there evil in the world? Because free will exists.

  17. sanpedrosilver

Very Easy plan: “Consume less than you produce and SAVE the difference”
    -Doug Casey

  18. RichGonzalezVerona

Look up the definition of hypocrite. Know and do are two different things.
