I hope that part of this series is showing people how to make more
responsible decisions with money by avoiding debt, saving for goals,
delaying gratification and doing without and not simply how to work the
system.
Part of the problem is not being able to say ‘no’ to ourselves.
In my book, All Debt is Bad Debt; unless I have the money to buy outright,
I don’t buy it at all.

If there’s a part-4, you need to continue with student debt. I’m almost
sure there isn’t anything you can do for that… as far as negotiating down
the amount.

Well based on contract law you never signed a contract with the company
that bought the debt, only the company that sold it. Signatures can not be
bought or sold so you own the collection agency nothing. They took a gamble
that you don’t understand the game.
Okay, children, don’t let this video make you feel like not paying your
debt until it becomes a hassel, expecting to negotiate it away.
1) First you try not to get into debt at all.
2) If that’s not possible, try to only go into debt as a last resort and
make certain you have a real plan to honor your commitments (would you loan
$10 to a friend who always tries to welsch on the payment or knock it down
to $5 all the time?).
3) Lastly, before cheating somebody you honestly own money to, arrange to
pay it all back over time. You might just get a lower percent interest. And
a higher wage or a second job might be needed, but you will end up being
better for the effort.

this won’t fix ur credit score though. u might as well not pay it. if u
settle debt for less it still has a huge negative impact on ur score
If people have rent they pay that or lose their home. If they have cell
phone bill they pay it or lose it. The same goes for all bills, and of
course there is plenty of money to go out to eat or to party Friday night.
But when it comes to debt, the. People decide not to pay? I don’t get it,
we pay willingly for all essentials and luxuries in life but look for ways
to weasel out of paying for our debt! It makes no sense

Take it from a collector, all those party supplies were bought with my

Also, don’t forget, if I have to go to court to get your wages garnished,
I’m going to tack on all my legal fees I had to spend to get you to pay
what you owe.
Also, there is a possibility that you can’t get this off your credit. If
your credit hasn’t been ding when we make a deal, I can report our
transaction or not report our transaction; however, usually when a creditor
sells your account, your credit is automatically dinged. Once, you credit
is dinged, it can’t be removed by the collection agent and probably won’t
be removed from the original lender.
This series is informative, but it’s really struggling with trying to be

Treasury and it’s closed, so go fuck yourself.
I don’t understand, a few here do though, if you take on debt then why not
pay it back? The guy who owes money in the vid is only about 3,500 why is
that so much money for most people? Debt is not the problem it’s money
management! If you are a grown adult and making an income and don’t have a
few grand in the bank then you are failing in life. I just don’t get these
deadbeats who spend everything they make and more and always insist on

im a debt collector, and settlements are not that simple or easy to
negotiate!
First check on your states recording phone call laws (my state you can
record phone calls as long as the other party knows about it) if you can,
then inform the collector that if they want to talk to you they WILL be
recorded. It is amazing how nice they become. Remember be nice but stand
firm. Also get a book on Dept law. Knowing what they can and can’t do is
liberating!

it, so you won’t pay debts, but you won’t get any of the patrimony either.

This happened to me. Social security came after me for my mother’s debt. It
was insane. I had nothing to do with her financial decisions. It feels
suspiciously like the Biblical idea of ‘original sin.’
GOOD! GOOD! At least THIS hits those, who likely have no meaningful
inheritance, and this one looks bad even to the general public – the
collective, the thieves. This is the same problem as the death tax, but
this one is MORE APPROPRIATE than the death tax, because the death tax
applies to money that was already taxed and that came from the parent /
grandparent, etc., this money came from the taxes (and inflation and
debt). I want this to hurt, because it’s the only way that something can
be done against government, and if anything is done against government it’s
a good thing.
I thought debt is a contract between the debtor and the creditor, wouldn’t
it require a new agreement for someone else to take on the debt?
BTW. This never happens to the wealthy. Weird?
The absolute issue here is inability to prove liability. In the case
mentioned the woman is in her late 50’s and the government claims she was
seven when her parents received benefits. No one keeps records decades
after a persons death and probate. Any debts owed need to be collected
during probate from a persons estate. I see a class action suit among these
survivors.
This should just remind people….Do not on any circumstance rely on social
security for your retirement!!! The government does not give two shits
about you. They are only trying to prop up their corporate masters and
throw out treats to us every once and awhile. Do you know that over 28% of
our tax dollars goes directly to the military industrial complex and
policing the world instead of taking care of our own people?!?
