  3. Funny video about the US debt situation, but I think it might be outdated
because things seem to be going in the right direction now.

  4. You must be see!!!!!!! Now!!!!! Great!!!!

Something rare. Toe tapping money humor

  6. Normand Beaudoin

    Cool

  7. Well written. Especially as purveyors of Tea Party neo-liberal economic
mumbo jumbo are not known for any smart level of satire.

  8. Thanks Dominic Frisby! Good. Wonderful.

  9. Brilliant! was pmsl :)

  13. This UK libertarian could teach Romney a thing or two about relating to the
average Brit — well half of them at least.

  14. NO political intent …. I just like the song and presentation !

  15. Addiction to credit goes on and on!

  16. I don’t know if this is new or old but I still think it is a good one.

  17. It’s both hilarious and accurate. ENJOY!

  18. Economics explained simply for music lovers

  19. Check out this video on YouTube:

  20. And yet Japan’s debt problem is not as bad as the US’. Because most of
Japan’s debt is held by it’s own citizens.

  21. What software was the presentation done by! the graphics are awesome!

  22. Math is simple.. :/

  23. When Japan lost the war in 1945 the Allies power inflicted a debt system on
them: Private Commercial Banks create money out of thin air but the
government has to borrow it. The people are not educated fully on the
problem with fractional reserve lending and so the problem continues.

Canada was in a similar situation in the 90s, they actually cut budgets and
deregulated the market. They averted disaster and now are in better shape
    than most countries.

  25. It sounds like one big catch 22.

  26. typical libertarian scare tactics

  27. Perfect illustration.

  28. What will end up happening is that all the almost bankrupt countries like
Japan and Britain will agree to buy their debt back…this debt will be
government owned, and it will only pay 1-2%/year, and their home-country
banks will be required to own major portions of this debt. Problem is over,
as the banks are basically nationalized.

  29. This is actually America’s issue. America have a huge debt to Japan.
America can’t pay and it looks like it is Japans problem. If America paid
back all the debt to Japan. Japan would have one of the best economies in
the world. America have 200 trillion dollars in debt total. Which is 1000x
    worse than Japan.

  30. ThunderboltTangerine

    They fucked up

  31. US debt is 70% of GDP. Japan’s debt is 120%
Both their annual GDP growth rate is about 2.5% annually.
But Japan’s population is shrinking and getting old.
It means Japan’s GDP growth could go down.

There are 3 large items that contribute greatly to the US annual deficit.
    1. National Defence (Military budget and war budget)
    2. Social security (retirement money for seniors)
    3. Medicare (healthcare for seniors)

Iraq and Afghanistan wars cost the US 4 Trillion dollars. Which is about
1/4 of the their national debt.

During the US depression just before WW2, US debt was also 120% of GDP. The
US was able to shrink their national debt to 40% in 25 years, by
investments in manufacturing and influx of immigrants and money from Europe.

If the US avoids a major war for 2 decades and decrease expenses, they
should be able to grow their way out of that debt again.

Japan needs to allow immigration to fix their shrinking population and
    labor force.

  32. Japan is the world largest creditor in the world. If Japan is going to get
broke, the world is going to get broke.

  33. I think that the most fundamental problem of all of Japan’s fuss is its
    ageing population and dwindling economy.

  34. Swagato Barman Roy

Excellent presentation, even though it leaves open an important question.
When the Japanese government borrows from the foreign investors, does it do
so in USD/EURO or in Yen? I guess the scenarios will be different different
based on which currency the debts are denominated in?

  35. Meanwhile somewhere happy merchants are rubbing their hands

  36. This probably just screwed Japan even further, now 209163 people at this
very moment now know, keep your money out of Japan.

  38. holy shit. According to this Abenomics doesn’t make sense. Is there
anything that is missing in the video?

  39. clear

  40. TheFlyingScotsman01

I woulda preferred to live thousands of years ago when the money system
didnt exist. People simply lived off the land and were millions of times
happier than alot of people today as they never worried about money. No
debt. No worries about rent. No tax to pay to the government. No gas and
electricity bills. You grew youre own food and hunted it. No funeral costs
    and so on!

    Simple.

  41. Deflation is a good thing

  42. The gov’t doesn’t ‘receive’ money it STEALS it.

  43. Whenever there’s a debt, there’s an equivalent surplus. So how come no one
ever examines the fiscal surpluses underpinned by Japan’s debt? Probably,
because they don’t know how the system really works (like the people who
    made this video).
